On Saturday and Sunday, October 13th and 14th, Olde Mistick Village will host a Women’s Health and Wellness Expo. Hours for the event will be 11 am to 4 pm both days.
This fundraising event for the benefit of the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation will include “Bras Across the Village”. Members of the community are invited to donate a new or slightly used bra, or bras, plus a $5 donation anytime between now and October 13th. The $5.00 donation will go directly to the Terri Brodeur Foundation and be used for breast cancer research. Bras Across the Nation, held during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is a national effort to afford opportunity for support of breast cancer research on a local level.
Bras for donation can be dropped off at The Cooper Shoppe, Mystical Elements, The Toy Soldier or Southern Exposure in Olde Mistick Village. The donated bras will be strung in the Village for the Expo event on October 13th and 14th. Each bra donator will receive 6 free tickets for the over 40 basket raffles in participating stores throughout the village. A member of the Foundation will judge the decorated bras during the event. The winner will be presented with a $100.00 dollar gift certificate issued by Joyce Olson Resnikoff, owner of the Olde Mistick Village, to be used in any of the Village shops or restaurants. Following the Expo weekend, the non-decorated bras will be donated to the Women’s Center of Southeastern Connecticut.
Select Olde Mistick Village merchants will be donating 5% of their total sales for the weekend to the Terry Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation. Look for the shops displaying the sign below and know that your purchases are going to help the cause.
Additionally, the Expo will feature experts and practitioners in Health and Fitness, Relaxation Techniques, Child Care, Travel & Finance. There will be activities for the whole family.

We are so fortunate to have OMV donate proceeds to TBBCF, and 100% of our gross fundraising goes directly to breast cancer research.”
Olde Mistick Village participating shops will each donate a basket with product from their store valued in excess of $50.00. Attendees of the event will purchase raffle tickets ($1 for 1 ticket, $5 for 6 tickets, $10 for 15 tickets) and drop ticket in the jar adjacent to the merchant’s basket they would like to win. All basket raffle proceeds will go to the Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation charity as well.
