Derby In The Village
Olde Mistick Village is proud to announce our first ever Kentucky Derby Weekend on May 1st and May 2nd! There are few American sporting events with the history and popularity of the Kentucky Derby, which makes it transcend from just a sporting event into a celebration of our country’s culture and a true icon of Americana. The Kentucky Derby is the longest running sporting event in the United States, dating back to 1875, and this coming weekend we will be bringing the celebration to Mystic, Connecticut!
During the weekend, we will be holding a Scavenger Hunt from Saturday morning 10:00am until 6:00pm and Sunday from 10:00am until 4:00pm, along with a Derby Hat contest for the best derby style hat! Use the hashtag #derbyinthevillage to tag your photo here in our village for a chance to win a gift certificate!!
The weekend will also be full of live music from 1 to 3 pm each day, with Dunns of Tewksbury playing on Saturday, and Kala Farnham and John Van Ness on Sunday!
We hope you will join us for another fun filled weekend at Olde Mistick Village, celebrating the great American pastime of the Kentucky Derby!!
