Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift or a place to gather with friends, Olde Mistick Village in Mystic, Conn. has it all.
“This time of year at the Village is awesome,” said property manager Chris Regan. “It’s a winter wonderland.”
If you’re looking for a gift for the foodie lover stop by Kitch – a store filled with kitchen goods.
“…Stuff for the home chef that wants to be the gourmet chef,” Regan explained. “They give you all the utensils you need to look like you know what you’re doing,” he joked.
Stuff your stockings with local honey from Sticky Situations. There is an array of flavors from chili pepper to sour cherry. If you are looking for a sweet, look to Franklin’s General Store. “Fudge is probably one of the signature items available,” Regan said. “They make it there and they have a wide flavor variety.” Plus they have an assortment of other great items like candles, patches, and more.
Olde Mistick Village is also home to Sofia’s Mystical Christmas, a 5,000 square foot store filled with ornaments and holiday accessories.
“The Christmas shop is probably one of the biggest assortments of ornaments that you can find in New England,” Regan said.
And if you work up an appetite from all that shopping, stop by one of the Village’s many eateries.
“You have the Steak Loft, which has been here for 46 years,” Regan said. “You have Jealous Monk, which is a beer garden with some excellent food also, and Pink Basil, which is an award-winning Thai restaurant”. There’s also Mango’s Wood-Fired Pizza Co. and Go Fish.
And don’t miss the Festival of Lights event on Friday, December 7.
“We light 6,000 candles,” Regan said. “We line all the streets and the entire perimeter of the Village and we have all the Christmas lights on the buildings.”
Many of the stores at Olde Mistick Village also participate in the Go Local gift card program. The same card can be used to purchase items at multiple stores and members benefit from great discounts and deals.
